Online Flight Planners

They're now good enough to do everything from any machine with Web Access.

Beyond just grabbing weather and filing your own laboriously created flight plan, the good ones offer substantial assistance in route and altitude planning, weather overlays and, frankly, more toys than the average pilot would utilize routinely.
Program and update disks are expensive and in the brave new world of ubiquitous and ever changing TFRs, disk-only programs are simply unable to offer “all available information.”
To their credit each of the following will give you current TFR's and ADIZ information.

Ever whish you could see a sectional chart
and be able to pan, zoom or click on an airport to see the what and where's.
Take a look at this sight, you can with this one. Even if your going x-country, just click on the USA map of sectional for the area you want to look at. I.E. going to Oshkosh.
Click the Chicago area and zoom out. Pan over to the lake and zoom back in. pan around a bit more and you'll find it.
Easier way, click the runway at the top of the page and then pick the state and airport and bang, your there.
If you pick on the dots near the airport, the runway info pops up.
It's all here.
